Welcome to our Vacation Rental House on Black Pond – Vienna, Maine

Tranquil beauty!

This year, come to Maine, the vacation state, and enjoy our 1.7 forest acres, with 326' lake frontage on beautiful Black Pond in Vienna, Maine, a town in the Belgrade Lakes Region of Maine (USA) in Kennebec County.

Relax for a week or two on your own semi-private lake, surrounded by forests and wildlife. Fish off the dock, swim, and lounge on the floating platform or cruise around with our kayaks, rowboat and paddleboat.

The 2,600 s.f. (242 sq.m) house is just 100' from the water's edge, and only 2 other houses share the lake. It is truly a special place in the woods, yet so close to the activities of Belgrade Lakes and the capitol.

This vacation guest house is a furnished 2-1/2 bath, 5 bedroom post-and-beam house overlooking a sparkling lake. There are 3 levels of decks with patio furniture and a screened dining porch off of the kitchen, plus a screened gazebo by the lake, and an outdoor shower, deck and firepit right by the lake.

The House

The house is 28' x 36' big, with exposed wood beams throughout – very dramatic. The kitchen and 1st floor bathroom have tile floors, and the rest of the house has wood floors and rugs. There is a finished daylight level on the lake side of the house with 3 bedrooms and sitting/tv areas, coffee bar & refrigerator, as well as a slider to the outdoor patio, and then deck stairs down to the lake level.

The first floor has the kitchen/dining area, a great room, a full bath, a laundry room with a new washer/dryer, and a 1/2 bath. The great room has a large tv and dvd/vhs player, cable tv, and a computer desk with speakers for your mp3 player.

The loft level has two bedrooms plus a 15' x 9' tv/game area, and a bathroom with two sinks and a big walk-in shower. Each of these loft bedrooms opens to a "treetop" 8' x 20' carpeted deck!

All 5 bedrooms have quality queen beds, linens, mirrors and bureaus. One lake-level bedroom with a queen also has a twin bunkbed.

Thekitchen is fully equipped. There's a stove, toaster, microwave, espresso and coffee makers (plus bean grinder), steamer, toaster, new pots and pans, and plenty of shelf space.

The house phone has free long distance calling to anywhere in Maine, the US or Canada for your convenience, and wireless n Internet access and 3 satellite TVs are included, too!

There is a modern 5-zone hot-water baseboard heating system so that each bedroom can set the temperature independently. Ceiling fans, floor fans and a living room air conditioner keep things cool as needed.

More Amenities and Outdoor Activities

We have a basketball net and horseshoe pit, and a sandbox for the kids. There's badminton and volleyball in our sand court!

The air conditioned (and heated) 24'x24' Rec Room has an official ping pong table, darts, bar and fridge, and a bike.

Our pristine Black Pond

Watch the beavers, herons and loons, or fish for brown, brook and rainbow trout, large and small mouth bass, and other fish. Maybe you'll spot a moose across the way!

Boating
Black Pond does not allow speedboats, so it's a relaxing, peaceful lake. Kayaks, canoes, and electric motors are welcome; we've got plenty for you to use!

If you have a power boat or jet ski, bring it for use on the dozens of other larger lakes! There is a public boat ramp just minutes down the road on our sister lake, Flying Pond. View a map here.

The lakefront and beach

We have a sandy beach next to the 2 docks, for the kids to play in and launch kayaks, and there's no "muck" until much farther out, where one would be dogpaddling anyway. Nice smooth bottom! It's shallow out until about 10'. The rest of the lake is deep, and clean (no crawlies) and loaded with fish. Even the shore banks have freshwater mollusks, showing the water to be clean. It's great for swimming; we have a dock and a swim platform out in the middle. Loons and fish and turtles enjoy the lake as much as we do... our family has had plenty of water-logged days here!
